Actor/director/photographer Tony Sears spent several years as the Associate Artistic Director of the Hilton Head Island Playhouse (now the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina) before coming to Los Angeles to work in Film and Television Production.  The Belle of Amherst is the third one-woman show he has mounted in Los Angeles.

He has also directed productions of Savage in Limbo, The Nerd, West Side Story, My One and Only, Sugar, Oklahoma, A Rosen By Any Other Name, and Having Our Say.  He spent three years assisting Emmy Award Winner Richard James in the Art Department of Star Trek: Voyager, then returned as an actor to appear in two episodes.

His acting resume also includes such hit TV shows as Alias, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Judging Amy.  Sears will soon be seen starring as the Doctor in Our Dying Breath, the back-story video for the popular Sony Playstation 3 video game, Resistance Fall of Man as well as Inspector Radcliffe in the new Internet series, Pesky Pike.  He’d like to acknowledge his long time friend and acting coach, Darryl Hickman (author of  “The Unconscious Actor”) for 20 years of guidance and encouragement.  He’d also like to thank his husband, Brad, for 15 years of unwavering support.  Sears has just directed a short film, The Path, and is in preproduction on two more shorts, as well as preparing to direct yet another one-woman show in the Spring of next year.  Visit www.tonysears.com for more on upcoming projects and to see his photography.
